Pleasant Valley Golf & Country Club in Pattaya located in the picturesque foothills north of Pattaya, is a very challenging golf course and although you may end up with an ugly scorecard this will be more than offset by the beauty of this underrated club. Not far from Khao Kheow National Park and sharing its natural beauty, Pleasant Valley Golf & Country Club is in excellent condition, but don’t let this lull you into a false sense of security because this is not an easy course and is one of the more difficult in Pattaya.

A lot of the course borders the tree-lined swamps which harbour lots of local wildlife but are also home to thousands of lost golf balls and the main reason why scoring around here is difficult. The 3rd hole is a good example with water all along one side protecting the dog-leg and if you get it wrong you either end up in the water or the fairway bunker. Unless you are a very long hitter then it’s probably advisable to play safe as there is more water around the green and it’s better to go in with a wedge.

Still more challenges await on the 12th which demands a 200 yard carry over water, and at the outstanding finishing hole, a short dog-leg par-4, which can tempt you to take the tiger line and go directly at the green but beware as there is more water there.

The clubhouse facilities are excellent with some great views over the course especially from the very nice and well-priced restaurant. The caddies are little more than bag carriers but they are polite and generally god fun.

Overall, an excellent choice for your golf in Pattaya, and if you can avoid getting too stressed by the inevitability of some dropped shots you're in for a great day of golfing.
