Pattana Golf Club and Resort is a 27-hole championship golf course and integrated resort spread out across 400 acres of rolling countryside northeast of Pattaya with panoramic views of the surrounding hills from the undulating fairways. Excellent all round facilities but a challenging golf course probably best suited to better golfers. The three separate nines (somewhat strangely named Andrea, Brookie and Calypso) are have enough palm trees, water hazards and uneven fairways to maintain your concentration and depending on which direction the wind is blowing can be a real test. There are some great holes, for example the long par-5 B9 presents a blind approach to a green surrounded by bunkers. There are two huge par 5’s on the course. On A course, the 5th measures 663 yards and on the B course the 9th is 626 yards so you need to be a big hitter to get anywhere near these two in regulation.
Plenty of water all over the course and many of the greens have been elevated to make life more difficult but when you do make the putting surface they are generally fast and true. The challenging layout at Pattana Golf Club is probably best suited to the better player especially during the windy conditions that often blow in from the Gulf of Thailand during the afternoons which make it one of the most difficult golf courses in Pattaya.Luckily the caddies are excellent and will guide you round.
Pattana has several restaurants, driving range and short-game practice area and a comprehensive sports centre.
