Royal Gems Golf City is an unusual and unique replica golf course not far from the centre of Bangkok which has a front nine with some of the most iconic holes from around the world and a back nine which has been inspired by the Augusta National – home of the Masters.Great fun to dream of playing the Road hole at St Andrews or negotiating your way round Amen Corner - not quite as good as the real thing but then few of us will ever get the chance to play at Augusta.Definitely one of the best golf courses in Thailand and it naturally made our pick of best golf courses in Bangkok.

The holes on the Royal Gems Golf City are not exact replicas but take their inspiration from the famous venues and they have incorporated some of the unique features of the original holes. The course is not too long so can be enjoyed by all golfers and if you let you imagination run wild you can picture yourself playing with the pros on the original holes.

On the front nine you will experience the church pew bunkers from the 3rd and 4th holes of Oakmont Country Club, the 2nd is inspired by the par-5 6th hole at the Jack Nicklaus designed Bay Hill Club shaped like a banana with water all along one side with danger all the way to the green. The 3rd is a par-3 based on the island green on the 17th at Sawgrass – home of the Players Championship and the site of some much drama. You will also experience the Road Hole at St Andrews – the home of golf, the Postage Stamp from Troon and the 18th from the Belfrey.

As you enter the back nine you have the chance to play the last nine holes form Augusta National and experience the drama of Amen Corner yourself. They have planted hundreds of trees which have yet to mature so you need to use your imagination a bit but once they reach their true height then it will look even more like Augusta.

The Royal Gems Golf City has a very modern and luxurious clubhouse with excellent restaurant.
