Set in the foothills around 20km inland from Hua Hin, Majestic Creek Country Club has been extensively renovated and upgraded and this 27-hole course is now one of the best layouts in Hua Hin.Improvements are ongoing and you may encounter some renovation work. Many of the tee shots require a solid hit to avoid the water hazards that front so many of the tee boxes and the tee-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers will punish any wayward shots.
Course A also known as the Creek Course starts with a pretty easy par-4 but the second is more challenging with a deep ditch in front of the green which will gobble up any under hit approaches. The 3rd which is another par-4 has bunkers both sides of the narrow landing area but if you can avoid them then the green is wide open. The 4th is the first of the par-3s and depending on which tee box you play has water most of the way from tee to green with bunkers guarding the right side. The 5th which is the first of the par-5s and rated the most difficult hole is a long dogleg left with water in front of the tee and again running across in front of the green. Not too much trouble on this course until you reach the 9th which is a sharp dogleg right with water running in front of the tee boxes and a large bunker guarding the tiger line.
Course B at Majestic Creek Country Club is the Lake Course starts with e very intimidating tee shot over the lake to a wide landing area – those long enough and brave enough to will be rewarded with a simple approach. The third is a pretty par-3 with a huge bunker in front and to the right of the green. The 4th is a tough par5 with well positioned bunkers protecting the landing area and surrounding the green. The par-4 6th hole is a great hole with water in range off the tee but if you can negotiate the dogleg you are faced with a tempting shot into the multi-tiered green. This nine has a great finishing hole – the long 590 yard par 5 which demands an accurate tee shot if you are to negotiate the water hazards which protect the sloping green.
The newly laid greens at Majestic Creek Country Club are yet to mature and it’s tough to get your approach to hold and they are deceptively quick. The fairways are in excellent condition and in dry conditions you can expect some roll out. At the time of writing course C was closed for renovations.
The clubhouse has been extensively renovated and offers everything you would expect with equipment for hire, a pro shop an open-air restaurant serving a full range of food and drinks. Good practice facilities with putting greens, chipping area and driving range. Unusually they allow shared buggies
