The Plutaluang Royal Thai Navy Golf Course in Pattaya is nearly 50 years old and as you would expect this is a very mature course in beautiful surroundings. It’s a bit further out than some of the other courses and takes about 40 minutes to reach the course.T here are 36 holes here and many of the holes wind around the huge lake in the centre of the course which attract a wide variety of wildlife and birds.

The design of the course is a bit old fashioned and it has never been remodelled so have a very natural feeling. The use of Zoysia grass which is unusual in most modern golf courses adds to the natural feel of the course. The four courses are named after the points of the compass and North & South are part of the original layout and the other two nines were added in the mid 1990’s.The courses offer a similar challenge with some quite narrow greens and well-bunkered greens with some thick rough if you get offline.

Most people remember the third hole on the north course which has an island green with a lighthouse overlooking the green and the last hole on the South Course has a very interesting approach over water to quite a small putting surface. The clubhouse has bene upgraded recently and has good changing rooms and showers although rather unusually they charge you for the use of towels.Nice view over the courses and the nearby mountains form the restaurant This is a fun course to play if you are looking for a relaxing day out in beautiful surroundings
